What a beautiful day in April to have the whole family together! Ryan wanted to something fun that included ALL of us (even Buddy). Mike suggested a hike up Pack Monadnock.
Ryan got himself dressed for the adventure (not what I would have suggested). Then we hoped in the truck for the hike! Buddy was very excited to be included!
A little family photo…then Ryan picked the trail…and we were off!
Ryan was ready to take a little break for a snack and water
Come on…we have to keep climbing!
The Summit!
It’s no Mt. Washington but he’s pretty proud!
We sat down for some lunch then the boys climbed up the fire tower to see even better and talk to the forest ranger. The ranger sent Ryan home with a lot of Smokey the Bear books and a book about all the mountains in NH that they can hike and climb these fire towers at!
Time to head back down. On the way down we stopped for another snack break and took in some of the views. Buddy’s paws were getting pretty beat up from all the rocks and finally he decided that he was DONE! Mike ended up carrying him over some the worst rocks (he’s not as young as he once was).
With two tired pals in the backseat…Ice Cream was in order! Mike felt so bad for Buddy that he even bought him and ice cream!
Buddy is recuperating after todays adventure and will need to go through vigorous training before our next hike
