It's a Date | January 25

We were given three tickets to Disney on Ice and unfortunately Mike had to work. Ryan was told that he could bring a friend if he wanted. Today however was the day that my seven year old told me he didn't want to bring a friend; he wanted to take me on a date {melt my heart}. Of course I said "yes" and then pulled out my camera to document this day (after all, it may be the only time he wants to take me out. Soon he won't want to be seen with me at all).

The show wasn't until late afternoon though and it was such a before day that Ryan spent some time outside with his neighborhood friend. Of course I spied on them!

Just Another Saturday | January 11

After a morning of early snuggles in our bed and a morning on the slopes snowboarding a peanut butter sandwich and hot chocolate is exactly what's needed.

Spooner Board | January 11

Ryan has been practicing some sick tricks inside with his Spooner Board. I even gave it go (not picture…thank goodness) and with a little more practice I think you will see both of as at the Olympics some day.

ALVIN!!! | January 9

Happy Birthday Alvin!

Thank goodness Ryan remembered his birthday! I sadly have to admit that I would have totally missed this special day if weren't for Ryan. Luckily, Ryan is quick thinker and was able to improvise for the special 2nd birthday celebration.

Cookies - check
Icing - check
Candles - check

A little song, birthday wish, blow out the candles and Ryan and I ate the cookies! I would say that it was win for all of us.

It's Hamster Time! | January 4

The post is dedicated in loving memory to the incredibly fast Robo Dwarf Hamster, Dash.
May you rest in peace and run non-stop in heaven.

Ryan was clearly upset by the parting of Dash and easily persuaded Mike and I to get a "replacement." He spoke with a gentleman at the pet store and explained what his was looking for in a new pet. He wanted a hamster to that he could actually pick up and would allow him to hold him but he still wanted a "small" hamster. The man at the pet stored steered Ryan in the direction of the Chinese Dwarf Hamster and allowed Ryan to sit on the floor and hold as many little critters until he found the perfect one to take home. So we ended up with "Tim."

Tim (not Timmy) has really become part of the family. Not only does Ryan love him but he seems to have grown on Mike too. So every evening that we are home and Wheel of Fortune is on…all of us snuggle together for a little family time.

Shredding Time | January 3

It’s that time of year again!  Snowboarding Time!
Ryan had his first snowboarding class of the season and picked up right where he left off last season!  Great job Ry!

Robots & Fun Spot | January 2

Ryan started off the New Year right!
He used his Eco Science Kit that he got for Christmas and made a Gravity Robot.  This cool little robot kept him busy and entertained for most of the morning.  Because we stayed at the house for mostly for a very lazy school vacation week I needed to get out to do something.  Mike and I gave Ryan a few different choices and of course he chose to get some lunch and hit the arcade.  We had a great time!

Happy New Year (New Year’s Eve)

Happy New Year!

While I know that technically December 31st was not “officially” 2015, I feel that New Year’s Eve is the “true” beginning of the year.  So…our New Year’s Eve post will be the official start of our 2015 blog posts!

Ryan was once again ready and wanting to stay up to ring in the new year…this year however, none us made it to midnight (can you see Mike and I grinning ear to ear right now).
Ryan put in a good effort and made it to about 11:00 but then Mike and I conned him into watching a movie with us in our bed so there really was no hope for him at that point.
We had a quiet afternoon at the house – Ryan played video games just about the entire day (on his new 3DS of course…I think he is already starting to wear out the buttons).  Of course we did New Year’s Eve Bowling (this is Ryan’s favorite thing about New Year’s).  Once we returned home for the night we did probably what any family would do.  We made a tornado in a bottle!  Oh…not what you had in mind…well don’t worry…we played a board game, made a puzzle, and watched movies too.

We hope all of our family and friends have a very happy and healthy 2015!!!
