Ryan a.k.a. Glide Master

Ryan is LOVING this snowboard thing!
At yesterdays lesson they brought the boys in the "park."  Everyone knows that if you're going to do some sick tricks  you need a nickname (like Shawn White aka Flying Tomato) so Ryan gave himself the name "Glide Master."   The boys loved dropping in and hitting the jump.  Of course if at first you don't succeed; the try, try again.

 

Keeping Entertained

With the very cold  temperatures that January has given us we have managed to stay entertained inside.

The rest of our January included soup can telephones, a birthday party for Alvin, polaroid pictures and Monopoly.

Monopoly is currently Ryan’s favorite game and he is impossible to beat!

Snowboarding

Ever since we put Ryan on skis (age 2) he has been asking to snowboard. Finally Mike got so tired of the begging that he told him... "When you a six." I wasn't surprised when Ryan reminded us on his 6th birthday that he would be snowboarding this winter. I think Mike was hoping this day world never come!  But it did and here it is! He's loving it by the way.  Mike and I are even enjoying it and were able to hit the slopes (well, the hill).

Happy New Year

Welcome 2014

I have been a total slacker!  In 2013 I wanted to get out from behind the camera and really enjoy the moments we spent as a family.  Unfortunately, looking back at 2013 I’m a little (ok…a lot) sad that I don’t have all the photos to look back on.  One of my resolutions for 2014 is to be part of my family and capture all those fun moments to keep the memories vivid.  Here will be the compromise…probably less fancy photos from my big girl camera but lots of photos from our cell phones (such amazing technology).  Yes you read that right…OUR cell phones….This will actually include pictures that Mike takes! 
Now with all that being said….let’s begin blogging!

The best way to start the blog for 2014 is with our New Year’s Eve.
Ryan made a bet  with Uncle Adam that he would stay up to see the new year!  We called Uncle Adam every hour on the hour to let him know that Ryan had not fallen asleep yet and believe it or not…
He made it!!!!

Tigers! Oh My!

Today, Ryan and I were very lucky and got to attend a very special young ladies party.  Ryan had a blast!

There were balloon animals, magic shows, bouncy houses, and of course…face painting!  This was the first time EVER that Ryan wanted to have his face painted…Lucky for me the fun continued when we got home and he let me take some pictures since he was not quite ready to get out of character.
